In Math, we have moved onto the division portion of our unit. Yesterday, we looked at the relationship between multiplication and division, and how we can use our multiplication facts to help us recall division facts.

In Grade 5, students are expected to divide 3 digit numbers by 1 digit. Over the next several classes, we will be looking at a number of strategies (e.g., repeated subtraction, equal grouping, arrays/chunking, traditional algorithm) to solve division questions. Being able to recall division facts quickly will help students use these strategies to solve more complicated division problems.
